If the PA guy uses that "First down, Mustangs" call during the TCU game this Saturday, he'll be doing nothing more than copying the PA announcer from Amon Carter Stadium last year ("First down, T-C-U!"). And the Froggies will be laughing their a**es off at us. That's one of the few things I've remembered from that 44-0 drubbing last year. The rest is just a tequila induced haze.

I guess I don't get your post MM1965. Are you saying that TCU will be running up the first downs (I think that's a given), or are you saying that SMU coppied TCU. I'm sure every school has a variation on the saying, I know SMU has done it since at least 2000.

I doubt we'll get many first downs.. dont' worry about it..

Why not just stay home and beat the pulp out of 'em on Xbox?

SMU 105 Horny Toads 0 on last night's game.
Wouldn't that be nice if it was accurate!

Current: like I said, a tequila induced haze probably had me confused after last year's game.

The junior cheerleaders are part of the athletic department and are intended to bring in more ticket sales. I question this logic as it would seem to bring in pediphiles.

On a different note:

"I was a diehard fan as an undergrad, didn't miss a game," quoteth Abezontar.

You didn't miss a game because you were a member of the Mustang Band, and the Mustang Band is the hub of spirit at SMU and this should have been instilled in you as a freshman bandsman. As an alumnus, you should still have this loyalty and spirit rather than games being a considerable waste of time. I only have two words for you: Birddog, freshman. You should be ashamed of yourself.
