I think each year he stays he has a better chance of making grades.

Re: 2014 NBA DraftNone of our guys appear ready for the league and Coach Brown is on record as saying he's like to see kids stay in school 3 years (like football) to mature. I agree it's all about grades for some guys but it will be interesting to see whether our graduating seniors get any looks and get an opportunity to play professionally if that is their goal...Europe or NBDL ??
Re: 2014 NBA Draft
That is not what he said in it's totality. He said that wished that basketball would do like baseball and let the kids out of high go pro that need to go pro but for those that go to college have them stay for 3 years. He is on the record as saying players like Lebron James and others should not have to go to college. #HammerDown
Re: 2014 NBA Draft
agreed...he said "most kids" need more time in college
Re: 2014 NBA DraftIf they are college material. Hate to see a gifted kid lose an opportunity to make a good living because he could not pass the NCAA clearinghouse when it does not take a college degree to play basketball. It should be like soccer or golf where you can go pro at 18. Also he never said "most kids" in any interview he just referred to the baseball model in general.

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
I've heard the Adam Silver say the same thing (although possibly only two years). Depends on the NBPA and the owners coming to an agreement though.
Re: 2014 NBA Draft
Is this trolling or real? Why would any of our players declare when none have any realistic chance of being drafted? I miss Troy Matthews.
Re: 2014 NBA DraftAfter last night that thought should be put to rest.
Re: 2014 NBA Draft
Agreed. The only one I thought might test the waters would be MK. Love him and he's come a long way. But he's got more work to do to get in even better shape IMHO (see Harrell). I'll probably get flamed for this, but I think we are in bad need of a center. Yanick certainly sounded the part -- and although I was a little disappointed in his toughness early on, he still was a major presence for us. But his injury must be really bad - he never even saw the court last night. I hope he can come back strong, but if he can't we need find a JUCO big man who can be a very physical/rebounding machine. Then, of course, we need a solid shooter. If KF can stay in school and work on his game in the offseason, maybe that's him. I think this team could be a sweet 16 team with those components (of course, I'm also including Eman in that). I'm getting downright giddy thinking about Nic Moore, Eman, and Sterling Brown together. Give them 2 big dogs down low and this is a special team (Ben Moore needs to get with a PT in the offseason and put on about 20 pounds of muscle without losing any of his flexibility - he'd be a beast if he could get there . . . maybe he should reach out to Kat Barefield).
