AP Rankings have VERY little to do with seeding in the tournament just FYI. So if you're looking at that as the indicator of where a team ends up in bracketology, you might as well forget it. Rankings just reflect who has won quite a few in a row or teams that lost the previous week.

Well, a higher ranking sure as hell doesn't hurt. I'll take a higher ranking over a lower ranking, Thank You!

Agreed and agreed, didn't say that in my post. I simply said it's not like #1-4 mean they're all 1 seeds, then 5-8 are 2 seeds. I was pointing that out for the people that think AP rankings have a direct effect on seeding in the tournament. A lot of seeding is simply on conference tournament performance. And you'll have the #20 AP team at a 2-seed in the tourney. If MSU wins the B10 tourney, you can almost guarantee to chalk them up to a #2 seed even though they won't even be top 25 this week.

Just late arriving is all. He should care more about the team and results - kind of stupid to say first thing out of the gate.

agreed - he looks around at the anthem and thinks that is the total for the game. He just needs to drop this - he has mentioned it a few times. Worry about the players. Go to any game in Dallas and it is the same thing - some of its traffic and some of it is just lazy. Having a late arriving crowd is not the end of the world.

I don't necessarily think that it was kind of stupid since Coach Brown is trying to change the culture at SMU basketball games but maybe he could have talked about it a little less. But he did kind of joke about Mardi Gras a the end.

Yes, mentioned in other pressers. I do think he gets his tally at the beginning of the game which its never full.

Traffic on a Saturday at 2pm? I agree with CMF in that this being fashionably late stuff might be okay for the elitist soirees but not for major basketball programs. You don't see this at major basketball programs.
