ESPN Bubble Watch - 5 AAC teams are now "locks"http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bubblewatch
..."Cincinnati has been here for weeks, and Louisville joined recently, and now it's time to make the American's five bids official. UConn, Memphis and SMU are all hovering around No. 7 or No. 8 seeds at this point, which means it would take a herculean bad-loss effort for any of them to drift down into actual bubble territory. But none of them even has the chance to do so. SMU's last two conference foes are Louisville and Memphis. Memphis plays Cincinnati and SMU. Only Connecticut has a possible bad loss scheduled in its last week -- at home, vs. Rutgers -- but the Huskies' chances of losing that game (per KenPom.com's adjusted efficiency projections) are somewhere around 5 percent. UConn's regular-season finale? At Louisville. They may beat each other up in the next two weeks -- that's been the theme of the American's top half since January -- but that won't stop UConn, Memphis and SMU from joining the Cardinals and Bearcats in the field on Selection Sunday. The American is a done deal."
Re: ESPN Bubble Watch - 5 AAC teams are now "locks"i would be very uncomfortable if we lose out including a confernce tournament game.
Re: ESPN Bubble Watch - 5 AAC teams are now "locks"PS - Looks like Big East is a two, MAYBE three bid league.
And any arguments about joining the MWC should be forever forgotten, as they are at most a 2 bid league, with a lot of dead weight.
Re: ESPN Bubble Watch - 5 AAC teams are now "locks"Amen. Big east should be crawling back to us...

Re: ESPN Bubble Watch - 5 AAC teams are now "locks"Xaviers loss last night really hurt the Big East.
Re: ESPN Bubble Watch - 5 AAC teams are now "locks"The AAC is a top 3 bball conference IMHO. Football? Not so much.
Re: ESPN Bubble Watch - 5 AAC teams are now "locks"
Agreed, especially since that conference tournament loss could be a bad loss. We could lose both games and stay in 3rd.
Re: ESPN Bubble Watch - 5 AAC teams are now "locks"so great for the conference. I'm glad we have pleased the likes of uconn, memphis, and cincy going forward
Re: ESPN Bubble Watch - 5 AAC teams are now "locks"
Temple will be back next season. Prior to this year they went dancing for six straight. Pay Lashlee more money

Re: ESPN Bubble Watch - 5 AAC teams are now "locks"I am glad the ESPN Bubble Watch page has us as a "lock." CBS Sports on the other hand has us as a bubble team that is "in for now"

How much bigger is it than ours? They may be getting paid more, but their exposure is [deleted]. I can't even find FS1 on my DirecTV without scrolling past several other more desirable games first. Having the ESPN exposure is essential. Hopefully we have a lot of games on ESPN/ESPN2 instead of just ESPNews and ESPNU next year. I bet we will. 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: ESPN Bubble Watch - 5 AAC teams are now "locks"One thing that I learned listening to Arkansas pleading for a spot. If you get a bye in your conference tournament, the selection committee counts it as a win. So in their eyes we have 24 right now even if we do not win again. I believe we have clinched a bye have we not?

I don't know if we are from top to bottom. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown
