Re: Top Dallas sporting events in the last decade?this doesnt compare to the world series or the nba championship.. are u kidding me? Only game on par with those would be if SMU made it to the final four
Re: Top Dallas sporting events in the last decade?agreed, not even close, but it will be an electric environment nonetheless.
Re: Top Dallas sporting events in the last decade? Its big, but the Cowboys draw 70K for a regular season game against the Jaguars. Even if there were that many seats, 70K people arent showing up. Still going to be an awesome scene and event that I wouldnt miss for anything.
Pony up!!!
Re: Top Dallas sporting events in the last decade?
Umm... Superbowl and last years NCAA tournament games would definitely rank ahead of this one. As would the last 10 Cotton Bowls and the Big XII Championships. Texas/OU for the last 10 years and finally, for the casual Dallas fan, the State Fair Classic for the last 10 years. Now if you're asking what event I've been most excited about, it would definitely be #3. I've not looked this forward to a sporting event since I played. Ponyfans.com voice of reason

Re: Top Dallas sporting events in the last decade? This game is probably in the top 5 for regular season games though.
Re: Top Dallas sporting events in the last decade?SMU being in the Final Four in Arlington still wouldn't compare to NBA Finals/World Series. More Mavs/Rangers fans in Dallas than SMU fans by a mile.

Top Dallas sporting events in the last decade?Top 5 Regular Season Games in no order
Cowboys v Giants in Jerry world opener 2008 TX v OU Cowboys v Redskins December 2012 - best NFL regular season primetime overnight on ANY network in 15 years. It was the highest rated football game ever on NBC. 2009 TX v OU 2011 TX v OU all three of those red river rivalries included a top 10 team and a top 25 team. this ignores 2002 and 2004 when both were ranked in the top 5 and 2003 when they were 1 and 11. This also ignores a lot of other December cowboys games when they were on the cusp of the playoffs. "This is . . . dedication to distraction by fans. Is that what I'm going to go with Jay?"

Re: Top Dallas sporting events in the last decade? All of you keep forgetting. Its not how many people. Its who those people are.
How's that for SMU?
Re: Top Dallas sporting events in the last decade? This doesn't even register in Top 20 of North Texas sporting events over past decade. Sorry.
Doesn't make it less fun or awesome for me, though. Really looking forward to tomorrow. ![]()
Re: Top Dallas sporting events in the last decade? It's a nice local story, and LB's presence has made others around the country curious.
Let's not go overboard. SMU cares. That's a big step in the right direction.
Re: Top Dallas sporting events in the last decade?Just talked up, AGAIN, on the Hardline, pointing out that on the secondary market, this game ($184 avg ticket) is only second to Mavs-Heat ($193 avg ticket) in basketball realms over the past year.
