I was just looking at stub hub…remaining tix are mostly over $200. I bet we surpass mavs/heat by game time

This would be a more interesting thread. Top 5 most anticipated SMU games in last decade (in no order) NCAAM UCONN vs SMU 2014 NCAAM Louisville vs SMU 2014 NCAAM Cincinatti vs SMU 2014 NCAAM Memphis vs SMU 2014 NCAAF Hawaii Bowl 2009 Maybe Texas State vs SMU 2008 (first home game of June Jones era and only win of that season) or SMU vs Rice 2008 (first JJ game) Maybe BBVA Compass Bowl in 2012 (2011 Season)
Interesting that all the hoops games are against ranked teams........football, meh. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I would add SMU-TCU in 2010 to that list. We were coming off our first bowl season in decades, TCU was ranked 4th (?) in the country, it was a Friday night game on ESPN, and Ford Stadium was absolutely packed with people wearing red. One of my all-time favorite moments as an SMU fan was at the start of the 2nd half - Sterling Moore picked off Andy Dalton, and Padron immediately put 7 points on the board to give SMU a 17-14 lead. I was so proud of our fanbase for showing up to that game the way they did. So much fun.

Good call. Not sure how I spaced on that game.

Was the final score in that game even close?

The loudest I have ever heard Ford was when Taylor Thompson sacked the qb from utep to clinch the win and make us bowl eligible for the first time. That was a great moment.

Not really - they pulled away and won 41-24. I was at SMU from 2001-2005, and until this year's basketball victories over UCONN and Cincy, that LOSS to TCU was the most proud I've ever been of our fanbase. I held my head high the next week at work when my UT and A&M buddies complimented the atmosphere at Ford that night. Pretty sad, when you think about it. Thank heavens for Larry Brown - he's given me that same pride in our fanbase AND a team that can consistently compete with, and beat, nationally ranked teams. One of my UT friends pointed out to me this morning that the atmosphere at Moody is evidence that Dallas will support a winner, even at a stuffy private school like SMU. If only we could get our football to a similar level, the experience at the Boulevard and Ford would be stellar.
