for those that weren't there tonite- funny thing happened to the usually maligned SMU student body. The size could have been bigger but they were going crazy 10 minutes before the Game. What were you guys drinking tonite. The alumni side started slow but I think success on the field and watching the students get after it convinced them to starting yelling. But this game ball goes to the Student Body-this Buds for you.

They did tight shots on the crowd all night on CSTV, but they certainly looked into it and the team responded well. Kudos to those who lost their voice tonight!

I got there a little late tonight and was damn near shocked to see the students and our crowd into the game. I figured the UT game would take a big toll. Surely it did, but great atmosphere anyway tonight. Damn it feels good.

The students were amazing. But the funnies site was in the fourth quater, after the TD that made it 21-10, they played that rap kickoff song, and looking at the center alumni section, there are people with one hand int he air, jumping up and down. I never thought I would see that.
And, yes, my eyes welled up during varsity at the end.

I saw the old timers jumping around too. For a few minutes there, all was right in the Mustang Nation.

I'm not an old guy, but it actually crossed my mind that I was doing damage to my heart in the 4th quarter. Once the clock hit zero at the end of the 3rd, the palms started sweating and the heart was racing. I thank the Mustangs for bringing home the W.

Yup. Everyone of them found out how fun college football is. I'd bet
they'll be back for Tulane.

This is what happens when you are winng against a real team, and not beaten down by blowout losses! If the ponies can keep it up, Ford will be rocking!

this is great news. there's no question but that an active student section can inspire the old folks to make some noise. I've said for years that the students set the tone. Keep it up...and remember to show up at Moody this year, too. Your teams (and classmates, by the way) appreciate you!!!

Student Section was amazing last night...I sat right in the middle of them all and it was outstanding. Surrounded on both sides by froggies and taunting from the start till finish.

I'm a little surprised to see the crowd was only 22,000 last night...but that's why I love Ford Stadium. Anything over 20,000 looks pretty good. Can we match that for Tulane???

Let's see: there was FC Dallas soccer match, a HUGE UT/Ohio State game at the same time, benefit music concerts, a Texas Rangers game, among other things - didn't surprise me at all.
