Five-star big man Myles Turner (@Original_Turner) says the rumor about #SMU is false. He texted me: "No commitments yet."

Is he going to wait until April 16th to announce? It would be nice to finally end this period of rumor and innuendo so I can either move on or really start to believe that we could win a National Championship a year from now.

Amazing we're talking about next year's national championship possibilities with a straight face.

There is absolutely no truth to the rumors of Myles Turner committing to SMU or any other school-The Turners

that would be premature big time. He and mudiay may have great pro potential - but as we see at Kentucky every year that does not mean national championship by any means.

You mean 2 out of 3 years not every year.

well Kentucky usually starts 4-5 true freshman. We have a pretty experienced team next year to mix in with Turner and Mudiay so it would be a pretty deadly squad right from the beginning of the season.

We will be much much better next year kind of regardless of how the class fills out. Mudiay immediately solves the biggest issue this year's team had, no true 2nd point guard. Ben Moore and Fraizer will likely be much better next year. Fraizer will learn and get more confidence on the defensive side which will get him minutes so he can become the sniper he was recruited to be. Ben Moore will only get better and better and if he can develope a few other post moves and improve his 15 footer watch out.

don't forget Sterling Brown in your analysis; most guys show the most improvement between their FR and Soph years. Let's hope that holds true for next year's Mustangs

Embiid not playing for Kansas, I could imagine, leans towards him staying at KU. I would like to believe that leads Turner away from the Jayhawks.

But it's all speculation at this point.

Did you see the comment made today in the DMN by Texas forward Jonathan Holmes about Turner?

Missing piece: With Texas in the market for another big man, forward Jonathan Holmes mentioned standout Myles Turner of Euless Trinity in passing as a possible impact addition. The 6-11 Turner is considering Texas, along with schools including Duke, Kansas, Ohio State and Oklahoma State.

"Maybe Myles will add something," Holmes said, adding that ‘he’ll fit in."

I thought players/coaches couldn't talk about recruits before they sign their LOI. Am I wrong or did Texas mess up?
