I was prepared to graciously come back and say I was an idiot but since our "sellout" crowd seemed to be more in the 20k range, I will just accept your apology and call it a day...In fact, I went over on the other side to meet some friends and sat by some of the bused in DISD kids and they were swinging their free SMU shirts and cheering for SFA because they were the underdog...nice use of free tickets.
This has got to be the low point of SMU football, we should have lost to a Division II school at home picked to finish near the bottom of the Southland conference...Bo Levi posts the worst QBing performance in SMU history and we would have lost if it was not for McNeil.....
Hard to believe some people in this thread talked about us already "turning the corner" when all we have been able to do is beat a couple of division II schools.....Paying June 2 million a year and then having him say we "sold out" a game that had barely 20k in attendance and almost losing to an also ran in the Southland is not progress..Ill take Cavan or Rossely over this mess....
/cheers

There were way more than 20k there. Home side was 95% full. Endzone was 65-70% full. Away side was 75% full. Couple thousand on the hill. 27,500 at the least.

If you would have said last spring that our SFA opener would draw anything over 25K, I would have checked your pockets for Michael Jackson meds.

I'll take Rossley over this mess, not Cavan. Copeland was well Copeland

GO froop yourself complaining about attendance which would've been about 10K, but with a Russ
Potts model applied was 27K+.

the people on Mustang Hill or children playing on the bounce toys there.
You're probably a polywog who ventures over to Dallas to watch the next opponents play.
May the forth be with us.

Re: SELLOUT!!
Should have called it Operation Shellout because although somebody shelled out cash for all the tickets, there were plenty of seats available on the 50 and everywhere else in the stadium.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Was I right? Sell out, but not perfect attendance...
