I heard as of today, they had sold around 400. I'm sure they will get some more before the game. I have to say though, Sam Houston, and Texas State each had around 2,000.
What was the formula? 18 ambassadors each sold 1,000 tickets each for $10 a pop? It's amazing that each of the ambassadors sold, or came close to selling out, their allotments. There should be a chunk of fans that come for each allotment. Maybe each ambassador is also doing other things to drive actual attendance, like a 'Vard setup or corporate contests.
Only 400 tickets sold to SFA alums? My brother is an SFA alum that lives in Garland. I wonder if he even heard about the game.
Do we know where these sales are coming from? It isn't like there is advertisement or buzz to the public, so there is a good chance there are donors buying up large numbers of seats to giving the tickets to poor kids or employees. Gotta figure that only 25% of those who get tickets that way will show up.
Like an SMU official has said on one pony information service you pay for, SMU already has a person for every seat that is bought and transportation is arranged. So we may be really surprised by the amount of people coming. It has been a successful sales drive to say the least because of the people involved. As long as the Ford Stadium personel do a better job of making sure season ticket holders aren't constantly having to ask people to get out of their seats like in the early 1980's, I hope they Sellout every game this year like this. It would be great for the players and the program for the excitement. And some will come back and buy tickets. Cold Beer, the BLVD.,Sellout, and hopefully an improved D and Run & Shoot... I want to see it !
Talked to my season ticket representative yesterday and was informed there are currently less than 250 tickets available for the SFA game. If we can get Ford even 85 percent full that is going to be an awesome atmosphere for our guys.
