Are any of the "young alums" coming to this? I hope that you all are represented (am talking about those who are class of 2004-2014ish.

I agree and really do believe that it is you and your energy that is going to be forced (priced) out of Moody on this thing...

Hope some of you are there tonight!

I'm not part of that group (I'm a little older than you all), but I will be there and representing your concerns. There are a number of issues that concern me with this whole process. I have corresponded with Hart over the past two days about this. His emails are more encouraging that the person who was posting on here defending the process. But it still sounds like a done deal. Just waiting to see how many are affected.

I love the comparisons to "powerhouses." I guess fans are held to a different standard than what takes place on the court. Let's actually win something before Kansas is your comparison. Let's at least win a conference tournament game (last time was '06). Winning 2 conference tournament games is a rare feat for SMU. Will that make the program big time?

SMU consistently finishes among the bottom half in their bad conferences with Rice, Tulane, ECU, and Marshal. Those are all schools with similar standings as SMU prior to last year. Let's make sure we know who the proper peers are to compare and not put the cart before the horse.

If SMU was consistently in the top 10 and a true powerhouse, I'd happy to reseat each season. Your comparison/justification is just absurd. SMU hasn't won anything yet, and they will need a really good run in down conference to get anywhere this year.

I agree to an extent with this. They did not reseat in '94 following an NCAA tourney appearance. They did not reseat following Dement' / Sasser's NIT tourney appearance. Other than landing a top 10 recruit who ultimately did not enroll (we did that once before), what have they done?

Perhaps they should look at Clemson, Minnesota, UC Irvine etc for peer group.

Seems like they are trying to cash in now at the expense of the future...

On another note - do we have Michigan, Gonzaga and Indiana all coming to Dallas next year - the upgrade in the other teams coming in could justify an increase in price.

Just wanna throw this out, you guys are really lucky that Hart responds to emails. I'm somewhat shocked that he does unless you know him on a personal level. SMU athletic department is at least willing to listen to people even if things are done that don't the general fans don't agree with. I think that's a positive sign for any athletic department and I have a lot of respect for Hart emailing individuals back that voice they're concerns.

My feedback has pretty much been "thanks", but you're right, at least he responds.

I agree with Ohio. I have gotten better responses than my email probably deserved when I have written him in the past. I am thinking particularly of a long email I wrote when we dropped the baylor game.
