Anybody going to the reseat discussion Dec. 11?

Post by photopony »

Got an email inviting me to a reseating plan discussion Dec. 11 but I was too late. 40 slots filled up. You can see the guest list at the event webpage.

My name is on the list, so I will definitely be there. I have class on Thursday night at 6:30, but the meeting is at 5:00, so it should be good.

I wanted to but they limited it so they wouldn't get terrorized for 5 hrs. I would like to voice my opinion and displeasure

Sorry, the school needs the money to remain competitive. Complaining over seat relo's so SMU can remain competitive is silly. You clearly don't know what's at risk. I'll pay a decent amount, but I hope I get priced out of my seats. If I lose my seats, I just pray it's to a loud and active fan that attends every game. People that want SMU to continue to run in the red (or lack proper resources) so that they can get a bargain on season tickets is amazing.

I'll be there. Doubt I'll hear anything good. All I want is a mechanism by which I can pay more to keep my current seats.

Ask Michigan how the money chasing is going. tOSU is about to lead the nation in football attendance which is the first time anyone other than Michigan has led it since '98 and for the first time in 50 years, there's no waiting list for Michigan football season tickets.

Oh, and it's the most wine and cheese crowd ever. 109,000 sounds like about 19,000 little kittens on game days, embarrassing. Legit the worst big stadium in terms of environment I've ever been to.

Michigan now has no athletic director, they've had to announce they're going to cut back student season ticket prices because students won't show up after they raised them to a ridiculous amount, and they're kissing fans [deleted] all over the place while they burnt those same loyal fans about 4 years ago when they did the major press box renovations ($300 mil worth of renovations I believe).

We are in a different position than Michigan, and as I said "I just pray it's to a loud and active fan that attends every game".

Number #1 priority: Fill our stadiums with loud fans
Number #2 priority: Limit financial loss
Number #3 priority: Give folks a "good deal" on tickets (this is subjective...)

This kind of logic reminds me of our government. Let's increase taxes to give to a bunch of people that have no idea how to spend it and then we should be grateful for them for taking our money!?

I have been kicked in the nuts enough times to know that SMU does not have a real good track record of increasing pricing and then turning those dollars into success on the field/court.

And if you think that higher ticket prices promote rowdier fans that will cheer hard for the Mustangs then you need to open your eyes. Why is it that we all sit on this board and complain about the lack of attendance and noise in the red seats but yet those are the most expensive seats?

We need to develop loyal, long term fans, not just be opportunistic the minute you put an above average team on the floor.

what a blatant [deleted] money grab.

yeah we need more old farts who tell the young alumni, who are rowdy and yell, to sit down. Hart is a fool if he thinks this will end well.

The die hards go to every game and don't sell their tickets to the Hogs. Please destroy the only home court advantage we've had in 20 years.

I don't think some of you fully appreciate the historic separation that is about to happen ($$) between P5 and G5 schools.

We will get what we pay for and support with our attendance. It really is just that simple.

This should not happen if we do not improve our season and/or make our current signing class better.
