They're giving him an ATM option out as well.

who ever our next coach is we need to have him on board very quickly so he can try and save this class as well as recruit some additional players.

The most important thing you can do is to hire someone who gets SMU culture and wants to be at SMU. Lack of continuity is crushing for college football programs, so even if you make a good hire in terms of wins and losses, you don't want someone who will win a bunch of games but has one foot out the door the entire time.

Get a coach that will be an RGT puppet and not talk about about any facility upgrades and say everything is okay how it is.

The only coaches looking to stay at G5 schools are ones that no one else wants.

They could always get an old retired on their last leg.

Well I can think of one example to show you that isn't true

Cincy tried that after getting tired of losing up and comers. Hasn't worked out too well and they can't afford to fire the guy right now.

We could always get Houston Nutt. He is begging for work and it proven no one else wants him.

Other than Penn State, I just don't see where he goes or even fits well. He's not leaving for Rutgers. I think he's smart enough to see that BC is a dead-end job. Virginia is really tough and I think the only person that ever wins there is someone very well entrenched in the state. Maryland wouldn't hire him. He wouldn't fit at VT. He wouldn't leave for UConn or Cuse. Ohio State would never hire him. He's not high octane enough on offense for WVU. The only place besides Penn State that would make sense is Pitt, which is basically us in a better conference, with a lot more history (none recent) and in a worse recruiting area.

lol I don't think he'd be a good cultural fit at SMU and vice versa.
