I found Lubbock really trashy, and the Tech fans to have as little class as LSU fans.
The use of the F-bomb was all over the place, and booing during SMU's "Varsity" - NO CLASS. I guess I just expected all the cow-pokes out there to be polite cowboys. What a joke of a school.
It was my fist, and LAST trip to Lubbock. I wouldn't pay $5 for my kids to go to Tech. The whole group w/ me felt the same way. Lubbock and Tech lost a lot of potential visitors (tourist cash) w/ this trip in my group - none of us or our families/friends will ever go back.
Tech is where people go who can't get into a real school
Duly noted.

Sadly, Air Force Col. Rick Husband was the mission commander for the space shuttle Columbia and was killed when it burned up on re-entry in the Earth's atmosphere.

There was an on-going nasty incident in the SMU section in the endzone where some young Tech hoodlums were screaming profanities at the SMU fans which included elderly people and young chilren.
I can't post on this message board the cursing profanities the Tech fans were screaming at visiting SMU fans.
You would think these Texas Tech fans several touchdowns ahead would just enjoy the victory, but instead they seem to more enjoy getting angry and screaming hate.
Stadium security officials had to be called when the Tech rowdies pushed a grey haired older father of an SMU student. At the end of the game security officials wearing yellow rain coats had to stand guard all over the SMU section.
I heard some SMU fans in other sideline sections were also not treated very nice during the game and when the SMU players exited the tunnel at the beginning of the game even Texas Tech coeds were screaming profanities and "shooting the bird" at our players and coaches.
Oh come on, you know LSU fans are ridiculous...if Tech played LSU, there would be more fights and such than you could imagine. All I know is that when LSU came to Oxford, we always have broken windows around town, and general disrespect for our campus and town, and when i saw LSU play Houston in Baton Rouge, the fans pelted the UofH cheerleaders with debris and they ran off the field crying. No lie. The Tech game reminded me of these incidents. Besides, they are the only teams where I've had people apologize in advance of the game for their fans.
