No, you need to praise them now. The athletic department reacted quickly, decisively and justly with the one game suspension. It's out of their hands -- and has been so for several days now -- and in the hands of the student judicial body.

ponyboy, when are you going to call for praised to be heaped upon the "student juducial body" for their quick and decisive and just handling of the matter?

Someone educate me: is a fistfight always considered a "felony (or misdemeanor) assualt" against someone (the instigator) ? Why do we not hear more about these ?

Is there no room in society for this as a way to settle disputes (as long as no-one gets seriously hurt) ? Does anyone have a serious answer to this question....

The serious answer is when somebody calls the cops, it has to be written up and yes, a crime is investigated.

The reason you don't hear more about these, I suspect, is that they don't often involve people in the limelight, and many times nobody calls the cops.

I agree with ponyboy; Steve Orsini and the athletic department handled this situation better than they were receiving credit for, they should be credited for holding their student-athletes accountable for their actions. It was a bad situation that has been rectified, at least within the athletic department, now we can move on and root for our ponies. And let us not forget, we do have a pretty good soccer team that is #1!

PRETTY GOOD?

The soccer team is fantastic. Come watch them 10/18/06 vs. a very tough South Carolina team.
