Yes to the Kip's in North Park Mall. Where the BIG fountain is located inside. There's now a Corner Bakery in that location.

I used to go to the one on Mockingbird after school when I was in elementary school over at Stonewall,so I have a memory or two there. Yeah, that whole area changed after they closed down. I can remember as a kid going next door to the Colombo's pizza restaurant eating there as well.

As for the gaston location, are you referring to what used to be "Brinks" on the corner of Gaston and Carroll? I believe that's a laundromat now. I don't head that way too often so I wasn't sure if that was the building you were referring to.

Never knew it as "Brink's"; only as Kip's Big Boy. Look at the building if you're ever in that area...you'll recognize the design.

EZ's IS ALIVE AND WELL http://www.ezsrestaurants.com/plano.html up in Plano off the Tollway next to the new Central Market i believe. You can still get a 2.00 student discount and clog your arteries. Unfortuneatly its way farther than it used to be, but you can still get your fix of Alamo Bowls if you need it. Wahooo first post

Kips was located on the western edge of Lakewood, near Swiss Avenue. We used to go there after Woodrow Wilson and J. L. Long football games.

The Brink's on Gaston and Carroll is where Brinker started his restaurant empire. This was Brinker's first restaurant. I remember as a kid, we would stop there on our way to church. The place was always packed on Sunday morning.

Brinker later started the Steak and Ale restaurant chain and the rest is history.

Yeah, I actually drove by there the other day and figured out where it was located. I was just kind of thrown off when it was mentioned that it was a laundromat because that's what the old Brink's is now. We used to go there when I was a kid for breakfast as well until it closed down. Man, I used to dig those pancakes.

This thread has restored my faith in humanity; I thought EZ's had disappeared forever. Best two places to eat in Dallas are EZ's and Brother's Fried Chicken down near Baylor Hospital.

Not sure that Brothers is all that. Ate from there once and was somewhat disappointed. Its predecessor at that site,Henderson's, was way better than Brothers. They had moved there from their old location on Thomas St. back sometime in the mid 80s. Back then you could get a little basket of chicken with fries,pickles,bread and a jalapeno. Now that was some fried chicken right there. Sadly, I still hadn't found anyone worthy of them.

Not sure EZ's is still in business on Coit. Tried to call it the other night and the number has been changed to the San Antonio corporate office.
