I saw Hibbert play in high school and knew he would be a solid college player. BTW he went to a private school in high school as well. I always liked the Senior coach Thompson. I am always glad to see the Tar Heels lose.

You guys have no earthly idea about gtown the program vs gtown the school. They are everything that is wrong w/college basketball. A program run by a reverse racist, that hasn't had one white kid on scholarship, that contributes, in 25 plus years. Yet, the schools demographics state enrollment has only 3% minorities.
They admit kids that can't get into a trade school. Jeff Green was denied admissions by Maryland & North Carolina St for chrissakes, and can get into Gtown? They cheat on the trail b/c Thompson Sr is a head of Nike grassroots etc.
Hate on Carolina, I hate them as well, but Gtown in an unethical basketball factory and everyone knows it

Good grief, don't do anything to interfere with "chapter". Is there any hope of ever "turning the corner" where all of our esteemed greeks show some flexibility and schedule "chapter" at a time that enables them to attend games from start-to-finish? What about setting aside the frat/sorority shirts in favor of creating a red-clad "SMU Student Body"? The greek shirts at ballgames are so "Stephen F. Austin-ish" -- the same Southland/Lone Star Conference greeks that wear their frat shirts and post their letters in the end zones at football games. Have you seen one frat shirt in ANY of the televised Tournament games??? As opposed to "thinking outside the box", our students need to "think outside The Bubble."

JTIII had to recruit for Princeton before coming to Georgetown and yes his dad is involved with NIKE which is something that helps recruiting. Georgetown also has long had strong ties with the DC Catholic High School league which produces the best players in the City, too. Thompson, Sr. coached at St. Anthony's before coming to Georgetown. I don't know Green's academics, but he got in and has managed to somehow stay eligible, and now gets a chance to succeed in life and its up to him what to do with it. Hibbert came from a private school which does not give away grades. At SMU we can't admit academic risks and that's why we haven't been to the dance in years and why we haven't been to a bowl in years. Perhaps the Georgetown model wouldn't be too bad to follow.

Chapter is every Monday starting at 5:30 and ending about 1 hr later for fraternities and 1.5 hrs later for sororities. Its a weekly event just like any other organization has that students commit to, whether it be Student Senate, Greek life, SMU athletics, Math Club, or the Midgets of SMU Economics Organization. I know while I was in school chapter never prevented us from attending Monday night games as they were all after chapter anyways.
I agree Greek organizations should wear RED SMU shirts to games but for now I am just glad when they show at all. I mean, the audacity of them to show up for a game against Paul Quinn College or a CUSA doormat, in a season where we win only 3 conference games, in anything less than all red and face paint. Spoiled brats.
