(1) Barnett â€" there has been a serious decline in alcohol, sex, escort service and strippers at recent recruiting parties and this problem needs to be addressed.
(2) Coker â€" a little attitude, guns and rap songs “Pony Up Biotchâ€

If we are not going to hire until mid December, he certainly ranks high with me. If we are going to hire now and I mean this week, which would help with recruiting, we obviously need one of the others mentioned including Fran. But Gill could be a great pick up if we wait.
Turner Gill has had limited success in the weakest conference. God knows that Buffalo is hell to coach/recruit to, but there is simply no viable evidence to suggest that he'd be a great head coach for SMU.
...but he's black.

Here is mine
1. Neuheisel <-- recruiting and gambling violations
2. Bowden <-- undisclosed violations
3. Barnett <-- recruiting and sexual misconduct (players) violations
4.Franchione <-- recruiting and general bad judgement violations
Is this your Top 3 / 4 that can get SMU the 2nd death penalty?
Where are your top 3 coaching prospects?

How many do you think Orsini will bring to Dallas and interview? I think at least 4. I think probably Gary Barnett will shine in the interview process. Go Mustangs!!!

They are all proven D-1 BCS quality head coaches. In fairness, now that you've got your wish, Who's your pick to replace Bennett?

Well then, if that's your criteria, then lets put Jackie Sherrill on that list. And while we are at it, how about every other potentially damaging and embarrassing coach with some sort of recruiting issues...but they are all PROVEN BCS coaches, right?
Everyone can simply
MARK OFF YOUR LIST any coach that has serious violations: That would include:
Neuheisel and
Barnett.
I give FRAN and BOWDEN a pass on that de-limiter FOR NOW because FRAN has essentially a very minor indiscretion that is the aggie way to get rid of him. BOWDEN never was 'proven' to have his indiscretions.

All coordinators except Bowden who's been out of the game for 8 years? That's the best you can come up with? I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume your just still giddy over the firing and not thinking straight.

That we can agree on. Applewhite, like Gill is also an unknown.

Gill is unproven as is Applebutter, but Applebutter has PROVEN he can run an offense at both RICE and ALABAMA - show me the money on Gill.
Rice
Pre-apple: 0-12
Apple year: 7-5
Post-apple: 2-8
Alabama:
Pre-apple: points per game=
22.9; 335 yards per game
Apple year: points per game=
31.8; 395 yards per game

Still can not agree since I do not classify Gill as unknown, just not big time. And not BCS which is so far a listed criteria so that probably eliminates him. I just think if chosen he could bring some new life and strong recruiting to the school.
As far as people meeting the criteria, I like Barnett, Mason, Fran, and Bowden, who ever can get here the quickest.
