Full class or not, we are over the 85 limit for next year. Thanks to the brilliance of the "SMU appeals process" that is forcing Jones to keep a few former players on scholarship. Well, we were. I am sure the other kids that lost their scholarships as a result, but are still wanted on the team, know by now that they too lost their scholarships. Haven't heard if any of them have left the team as a result or are transferring.

So, if we do sign someone else, that means somebody else is going to have to lose his scholarship.

This years class is not filled yet.

I said signed not committed. I am talking about the 2009 class that signed in February not the 2010 class.

do the appeals kids count against the cap if they are no longer on the team? i assumed they'd be on nonathletic ships now.

i would think that they would have "worked something out" at this point to free up the scholarships

You assumed wrong, from what I was told.

I hate to sound disloyal but it is hard to disagree with the UCLA fan commnets seen on the links. How did SMU get in his sights at all after not getting any consideration in his earlier favorites? Does look like there is a lot more to learn about this situation.

At the risk of watching Insane go ape [deleted] about NEGATIVE recruiting information, I came across this story yesterday that he is about to enroll in summer school at NMSU.
