Apparently, we do NOT have any competition for the QB position now that JWill has QUIT :!:

Therefore, it should be necessary to punish laid back QB Dennis the Menace B. Mitchell to run stairs, cross countries, push ups, digging holes, and filling them up for each INT until he learns
the value of an INT :!:

My middle school Coach McCarty promised us multiple cross country runs for every loss, and we
went 8-0-1 to win the district championship. He eventually became AD of SFA, and hired the
guy who gave us a hard time during the first game. Retired now. 8)
May the forth be with us.

totally agree with you planostang...bo does deserve to run extra for costing this team a win and the team should run too because they took apart in the loss

The only one giving us a hard time is ourselves.

Not down on Bo. Yes he has thrown INTs that have helped put the other team back in the game, but he has also driven us down the field and scored which put us in the lead in the first place.

We are still young. The whole team has made progress and has helped and hurt us at different times. Will be interesting to see how we play in the second half of the season. They are learning and improving every game.

thats why there should be "NO EXPECTATIONS!" because we can always use the same excuses year after year after decade...

that tag will expire on this coaching staff as early as next year, but it all depends on how many FR are on the field. It just comes with the territory in rebuilding and changing coaches what...5 times in the 20 years since the death penalty?

until the majority of your 2 deep is filled with guys who are in their 3rd and 4th years in the program (so they are at least in their 2nd or 3rd year of actual playing time), it's a valid excuse...but I haven't heard this staff using it as an excuse. A lot of very determined people will tell you that they have learned best from their mistakes. That comes with being upset with yourself because you made a mistake. As long as our guys have that attitude, I will remain optimistic that they will continue to improve and eventually become the best players they can.

If the coaching staff recognizes a need to "recruit over" someone, I have confidence they will try very hard to do so. Right now, I'm pretty happy with the fact we are all disappointed in being 2-1. This group changed my expectations with the win in Birmingham and I applaud them for that. Right now they have me looking forward to seeing what they can do in their next game...to see if they can improve on that embarrassing loss to TCU last year.

There are indications that JJ's patience may be running a bit thin with BLM, over on smu scout, they report that after practice today, BLM strolling over to do his customary stationary bike routine while rest of team was running sprints. JJ walked over to BLM and the next thing you see is BLM is reluctantly lining up to run sprints. Scout also reports that BLM looked sluggish today and JJ got into his earhole a little bit telling him to pick it up, havent heard of JJ being a little harsh to his QB, this maybe a good sign.

i might be missing it, but what is the good sign in that? Is it that JJ is getting on him? After the game last week, its pretty hard for me to believe BLM isn't working very hard and very attentive this week. if he is not, that is a very bad sign actually, at least for this season.

Not sure Mitchell was "reluctant" to run at all, since I was about 10 feet away from him when he got off the bike. I'm guessing here, but he might have thought he was supposed to ride the bike in lieu of running sprints, maybe in response to the abdominal infection he has had for a week. If he appeared sluggish in practice, the sluggishness was minimal, but the infection clearly has taken its toll. He looks thinner, and he confirmed that he has had trouble keeping food down for nearly a week and has lost considerable weight. When told to run, he got up and ran.

It's a good sign that tough love may be the best for BLM, and I believe that a different approach by JJ can only help BLM's mental toughness in making better decisions on the field, which will help the team. I am not BLM is not working hard.

I do not think we have yet recruited the QB that is going to be our "saviour". Once we can show progress, I think Jones will get the attention that his training background deserves and we will see QB skill that we have not had for some time. I have been very much against wasting a red shirt by playing Padron but now I really do not care. If he can either push or rest BLM, then play him. I do not think that McDerrmott, Padron, Bo, or Kaiser are the means to the end. I think they are the bridge to the beginning of the means to the end.

Actually scout never used the terms "sluggish" or "reluctant".
