Bottom line, you lock my son in a closet for 3 hours with a guard ouside as punishment for a concussion...and you and me are going to have a problem. Regardless of his status as a espn/abc broadcaster, CJ is a father first. Like any father, you fight for your child. Whether Adam was lazy, mouthy, or a good player, Leach as a human being should know that locking someone's kid in a closet for hours at a time is wrong. period.

Leach is lucky that he is not facing criminal charges at this point...e.g., false imprisonment claims. He is also lucky that CJ didn't kick his @ss personally, as most fathers would have done.

False imprisonment? Are you effing kidding me
According to the trainer, Adam wasnt there for three hours Adam was exaggerating. There also wasnt a lock on the door and Leach didnt do much besides telling the trainer to find a dark place for him if he was sensitive to the light.

I had three concussions playing football in high school and I was placed in a dark room of similar condition each time, its the proper treatment.

It was reported today on ESPN News that the TT trainer was interviewed by the authorities and stated that "at no time was Adam James put in any electrical closet. He was put in a large equipment shed with two trainers that never left him."

It appears that Adam James filmed himself in the electrical closet on his own.

Leach's interview on ESPN today was pretty brutal on CJ.

Not saying that what he did was right by sending AJ to the shed with the trainers, but it was never a dangerous situation. The team doctor stated that it may have been better for him in there in a warmer environment without as much light. A little bit of stretch maybe, but nothing terrible.

From all the documents presented so far, it still appears Leach could have a windfall coming his way.

Doesn't look good for the Tech administration.

I read one media account that indicated that Leach was presented a simple 2 sentence document to sign which required that he defer all medical issues re injuries to doctors. All injuries were to be defined by doctors who would then be responsible for the treatment of those injuries and medical clearances for the athlete to return to practice or games. Leach refused to sign the document claiming he was responsible for the program and the rest is history. If this version is correct the administration was really letting him off the hook and it is his own ego and arrogance which exacerbated the whole incident. Personally, I cannot fathom in this day in age why any coach would not always defer all medical issues to trained doctors to avoid every possible adverse ramification and CYA. My only conclusion in this matter is that Leach's ego and arrogance caused him to disregard all normal procedure and common sense to tangle and teach a lesson to a similarly arrogant, lazy and whiny player. Leach even admitted to a cussing the kid out for his refusal to practice with the concussion which resulted in the shed and electrical closet punishments to prove his dominance and authority .

Especially one with a purported legal degree. Didn't he get his in California? I think they pass them out like bubble gum out there.

Passing the Bar in California is very tough. No bubble gum bar exams there.

Begs the question as to why he was not under the care of a doctor and why he was even on the field during a practice let alone being placed in a shed. One claim was that the sun was giving him a headache so he put on sun glasses and that is when they placed him in the shed to keep him out of the sun. Since when would a responsible coach not send an ill player back to the locker room and the medical staff??? Confining a player with a concussion, who was reacting to the sun, to a shed adjacent to a practice field for the duration of a practice is nuts.

Leach was quoted on ESPN that he told the trainers to "put him in a dark place near the field". He never told them to put him in the shed.
