when SMU takes more than 1-2,000 and change to Ft. Worth then you guys might not look so ridiculous

Re: It is 100% sold out
Stallion,
Act like TCU doesn't have MAJOR attendance issues when San Diego State, Colorado State, UNLV, etc. come into town. They're a top 5 team right now so of course they're going to have a great year attendance-wise. I went to a TCU-CSU game a few years back where MAYBE 18K were in actual attendance. They're not far removed from where we are.

The last time we had anything to play for in this rivalry game in '97, we brought at least 4-5K to FW.

and let's see...you dont seriously mean that you take everything JJ says at face value? If so, what do you think about going up against a team with 25 guys who will be playing on Sundays?

Re: It is 100% sold out
TCU has always had better base of support. Check the Dallas Morning News today-1996 TCU attendance was 27,000+. SMU has never in my life taken a crowd to Ft. Worlh in anyway approaching the last 5 TCU crowds in Ford. SMU fans ought to stare in the mirror and realize the problem is and always has been in our own alumni, family and friends lack of support for the program. Tommorrow I'm sure will confirm the same. Its time to stop making excuses. If some of you don't have season tickets or don't go to the games then I'm talking to you. What possible excuse could you have now. New Stadium, Boulevard, Bowl win, national prominent coach. There should have been a much greater increase in SMU support this year

Not sure how many seats the upper deck at the Death Star holds but that stadium had LOTS of empty seats that were unseen by the television viewing audience because of the tarps.
They still had 46,000 I believe at the game. Had we been playing Oregon State there, probably would have been lucky to draw 25,000.

PonySnob,
If we were a top ten team playing on national TV we would have drawn at least 35K. As it is now no we would not have had 30K for that game. TCU has been building its brand in FW by WINNING for a decade. We've been winning for about a year. These things take time.

Oh good, more attendance smack talk. Exactly the kind of thing two small private schools with small fan bases should be taking up with each other.
