I really don't see how anyone could not want him out here. As a reclamation project, it's hard to think of a better candidate.

Garrett Gilbert’s latest turn at Texas may be his last

In all likelihood, Gilbert was finished in Austin, anyway, and probably bound for a transfer — a hard fall for a home-grown, five-star recruit who looked like the heir apparent to Colt McCoy even while getting pummeled under the worst possible circumstances when McCoy was knocked out of the 2009-10 BCS Championship Game. At least now, he can chalk up his demotion to injury, write this season off as a medical redshirt, and move on to a fresh start with a year or two of eligibility left to make good on that potential under a more forgiving spotlight.

Why would the Ponies even consider such a QB?

This. We all know how June likes his reclamation projects. Plus would be some great media attention when we seem to be slinking back into the shadows.

I'm with all those that don't want him. Who wants a guy that struggled starting as a underclassman, at the toughest position, for a team like UT? Not me. Where's Bo when you need him?

Again, where is the article or something published that states SMU is under consideration?

We aren't and nobody stated that. It has been mentioned he is looking to transfer.

We usually see eye to eye....but having seen GG play first hand vs BYU ... June would have to coach this kid up a lot if he is going to see the field.

Arm Strength - A+

Ability to go through progressions - F

He Eye F*cks his receiver and lets it fly, not matter the coverage, no matter the other reads on the play.

Sounds like my typical night at a bar. With the same predictable results.

Yes, someone did.
StangCP wrote:Word is that Gilbert is seeking a medical redshirt and hopes to transfer if the request is approved. SMU is included on a relatively short list of possible target schools at this point.

What are we talking about here? Our QB's only get better when they transfer out not in. :D

We just want to know where this short list came from. Who else is on it?
