I would bet you that if a player at the school had condoned a statutory rape by being a silent witness, they would have suspended the player. Or worse.
agreed. to place the interests of the players and football program above those of the many innocent child victims is an affront to a sense of what is just. and, it is exactly that kind of consideration (ie, protect the players/program/coach at all costs), that precipitated the many poor decisions that has led to the present situation.
Agreed... I still am weirded out by the irony here, i.e, SMU goes undefeated, yet Penn State "wins" mythical National Championship... SMU gets Death Penalty... Then Penn State goes down in flames and certainly is more deserving of Death Penalty than any program before or since.
As someone said on ESPN radio..duke lacrosse was innocent..and they cancelled the season. State penn will have 108000 fans doing we are ...etc on Sat. B.s.
I know its innocent until proven guilty but beyond the criminal time and civil suits they are facing, their program should be sanctioned either by themselves or the NCAA. For a program to enable such atrocities goes way beyond a lack of institutional control. Not that the NCAA will do it, but if SMU can get the DP for as an institution repeatedly paying players, for a program to enable those actions even with criminal charges and civil law suits anything less than the addition of the DP for Penn St. will be a joke.
Man this issue was being lighten up on the airwaves on the Ticket and they mentioned our death penalty and how this is 100 times worst than what we did. They should get the death penalty, I mean it sucks for student but if you want people to have better controls, policies, and actual people who man up and witness a child rape to go bust in there and kick [deleted] or try there best. Heck I would of shot the guy if I saw him committing those acts, so worth going to jail for.

I'm not a lawyer, but I keep hearing that this isn't an NCAA issue. From what I understand, some of the crimes took place in the football locker room. The HC was aware of it, the AD was aware of it. They allowed this sick person to go to their campus because he was a football coach or ex-coach. Any lawyers that can explain why this isn't an NCAA issue as well?

On the subject: Tuff Spot With Navy, you were cited as being omniscient and omnipotent , therefore you do know who will be in the bowl games. You just aren't divulging at this time. Want to get the bets down first, eh.

The NCAA are going to take the side seat and hope they can avoid any conflict with this. They dont want to hand out the death penalty, even though it probably will help Penn State so they can shut down and restart after the clear their infection. Also it would make them look reputable to the rest of the United States, just like I was hearing on the radio, if they dont do this then people wont give a crap if players come in with brand new cars or houses. Once the NCAA feels threaten of its soverignty, Im sure some type of penalty will happen to them, just not sure if its the death penalty, since they saw us collapse. I just hope they realize the crimes we committed were 1) everyone was doing it and we were scapegoat 2) their crimes are terrible and sickening, and it was repeated over and over again.
ok, so he's gone. Penn State is going to HAVE to clean house. they've already started from the top. President of University, Paterno, AD, etc. the trustees should make a preemptive strike and shut the whole thing down. no more football for a year or two.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
