No, we don't deserve June Jones. Not until we change our stupid, entitled, loser attitudes.
Have some respect for yourself. June isn't the second coming of Jesus, and if he was, he would likely give us the benefit of outwardly indicating that he wants to be here.
I would love to have some feedback from todays coaches luncheon. I suspect that JJ will be there and not Mason/Morrison. No details - just an overall opinion of his attitude and feelings about the lack of team intensity.
I wonder what CofC or Orsini think about that quote...Listen, I don't care how upset June/the team is about fan attendance, if he doesn't have the personal pride to prepare for games, properly install his offense, compete/complete team goals...who would want that coach anyway? I'm not on the "fire June" ship at all but my gosh, act like you care. if this is some sort of punishment for the attendance at the UCF game, I would be beyond disgusted.
Is 3 straight bowl games, returning national relevancy, and AQ status worth the 10 million payed to June, I say absolutely YES. Its not my money so it'd be better to ask members of the CofC, but i think they must feel its been money well spent.
Going forward, I don't think June is necessarily 100% loyal to this job, I think he takes one more shot at a big program or in the NFL before retiring, his son is not even applying to SMU. Nor do I think he is the guy to get us to the next level, but has he done what he was brought here to do, I think YES.
I would like our next coach to be energetic, charismatic, smart, a great recruiter, and someone that really bleeds harvard red and yale blue. Someone that doesn't necessarily bring outside influence to the program (i.e. Hawaiian influence) but really shapes the identity and brand of this team and program in a way that honors our history and heritage. I think we will find this coach when the time comes, but will enjoy the ride along the way, its been great.
Return on Investment: A performance measure used to evaluate the efficiency of an investment or to compare the efficiency of a number of different investments. To calculate ROI, the benefit (return) of an investment is divided by the cost of the investment; the result is expressed as a percentage or a ratio

well said; while most of the country still laughs at SMU, we think we are special and coaches should be lining up to coach this program

I agree with SMU's attitude and appearance, and we need to go back to our roots in this community. I know we are surrounded well off people but we need people who can still come good families but not given a beautiful trust fund or whatever. We need to show Dallas that we are the embodiment of the community. However, outside of the bubble we are known for our tier 1 schools like Cox and Dedman Law. I also believe that we are not research level university. So I think academically we are outside the bubble, but we just need to send out personal statements from the players (as we are and through the stampede) but it helps people feel a human connection with our team. Hopefully we can regain dallas and the metroplex. I know people around my community where I grew up said TCU might be a private school but the students are pretty ordinary not rich snobby kids, thats what our university needs.
