According to reporters: later this week can mean sometime next week, which can mean sometime between now and infinity, but it may not happen at all... be sure to constantly check our website for breaking updates based on unsubstantiated rumors from unnamed sources aka random intoxicated fans on twitter if we are lucky.

Because this announcement should create a media (espn) buzz for the BE.
ESPN didn't break Penn State coverage for commercials, let alone mid majors accepting BE invites.

Really? Every news publication from Sports Illustrated to the Drudge Report ran with Sandusky as the lead story. We would have been bumped to page 6 at best. This would actually be a news story that is worthy of page 1 on the right day. Wait a couple weeks and take the national sports headlines.

If we don't announce it this week, I will have serious doubts on how "Done" this "Deal" is. After waiting in news-line for so long, how could the BE not take this perfect opportunity; even if it is only to announce UCF, SMU and UH. Our team has needed to get this BE monkey off its back and apparently they are desperate for affirmation.

not irrelevant at all. PSU is a MAJOR news event. anything announced sports wise last week would have been last page news. the big east taking 6 teams would have been talked about for 15 minutes, and then back to Sandusky & Co. for a 4 hour penn state special.
even though most everyone knows it's happening the BEast & SMU et al. want this to be a big to do news event.
