My dad taught me one thing about loyalty. People may bag on me for my ranting about Minnesota, but I wouldn't do it if I didn't mean it. I love the Gophers and University of Minnesota because my Dad went there and I loved my Dad very much.
And for the past three years I've gone to MSP to watch them play not because it's an excuse to party for a weekend (but that doesn't hurt either) but I go because I honor him.
I hope what I teach my kids about SMU is what my Dad taught me about his loyalty with Minnesota.

Very cool post Mitch, I'm a fan of my parents' alma mater too, a distant second for me to SMU. I know SMU fans that are fans only because of family affiliations as well, we need all the fans we can get.
