He was clear about what he was posting, and as has been said 20 times on the other thread, it was a ridiculous way of slanting the data if the purpose was to measure who the best recruiters on staff are. If it was to show that the coaches besides Klemm were able to recruit starters good enough to go 7-5 in C-USA then it was an honest approach. I do not think his intent was to slam Klemm, I think it was to build up the other guys.
I spoke to 5 people after the luncheon who all realized it was a ridiculous way of looking at it in the context of Klemm, so unless they were the only people that got it then there were a lot of people who saw what he was doing. No one needs to know every fact about the dates (although it is appreciated) to say that for all practical purposes this is Klemm's 2nd year to be recruiting so of course he does not have a long list of starters to his name.
The presentation was intended to suggest that one are two people are not the only ones recruiting - that the entire coaching staff is involved int he recruiting effort.
There has been an insinuation on the board that there are only two people out on the recruiting trail. That same accusation was made at the lunch. JJ simply pointed out that other people are definitely involved in the recruiting effort.
What do you expect him to say? Klemm is leaving, oh crap, we are screwed?
I think the point was just being made that we will be okay, because the whole staff has always recruited players. They decide as a group which recruits to offer. The other coaches have done their homework for their regions, so if AK does leave and takes recruits with him, we have other targets in mind, it isn't like the rest of the staff hasn't been doing anything.
Oh, and of course an important point was made that we have the money to hire really good coaches to replace anyone who leaves, and that will keep players here as well.
I refuse to acknowledge June's presentation on recruiting. I only pay attention to power point presentations with fun colors and pie charts, not 1980's over heads that are out of focus!

I was, I guess that demonstrates why I was always better at checkers than chess.

Sure the other coaches are going after players but what quality of players are they going after is the question.

i don't think it takes that much smarts to call bs very early on that. within ten seconds i saw three or four tables talking about how klemm must be gone if he is already throwing out the crawfish routine.
Dont flatter yourself - stallion - it doesn't take a nut ball recruiting wonk to figure out we were getting some spin. Hell klemm has only been here a couple of years so you know his guys arent on the field yet - check out the recruiting list - it is obvious we are losing our best recruiter - the question is can you, June, recognize that and go fix it (time two) or does Orsini have to make that happen for you?
Don't flatter SMU fans claiming they know much about recruiting either- apparently out of the hundreds of Ponyfan posts on the subject not one of them made about 4 points I did in this thread. Although I will say now it seems like every Jimmy and Johnny Cheerleader got a Rivals subsciption for Christmas because they think its their duty to support the program propaganda machine. Now those sites are filled with the same stupid Cheerleader comments previously reserved for Ponyfans.
