Agreed. But we fans demand a lot of these coaches and their staffs. JJ has been crucified on this board for taking a few days off after the bowl victory.
In Paterno's case, I am sure that the stress of the Sandusky situation has hurt him, but my hunch is that he hasn't yet fully appreciated the gravity of the whole thing. Cancer can claim a victim surely and swiftly with no outside assistance.

June was crucified by me because he waited until after the dead period to take his trip to Hawaii he had a whole week after the bowl game I believe that was dead period. He should have went then.
Cancer sucks, I would have liked to hear more of his side of the story. He never seemed like a bad guy but what he did was terrible.

Yes for what he did not do. It's hard to know because we don't have all of the facts but I would say that he is a bad guy here, he just isn't the main villain.

The man is gone. He will go before the only judge with all of the facts. Let that be enough.
No one is perfect. The tragedy is that Paterno's mistake of not following up or going to the police led to Sandusky continuing his abuse. He will pay whatever price is deemed necessary for that sin.

I'm certain you've made mistakes in your life. Not the same mistakes, but still mistakes. It's the condition of being human. But hey, if you're perfect, I'm sure you can find some stones nearby.
Like I said, Joe Pa will have his judgment. We've talked ad nauseum on this board about how he should have done more. Now that the man is dead, we can move on with the knowledge that he will ultimately end up where he belongs.
