Ro used to be my neighbor when he lived in Dallas and played for the Mavs. Heck of a nice person and I would be happy to see him as a coach if he has the background.
GO PONIES!!!

I think that's a guy that the general Dallas sports fan might pull for to do well at SMU.
If we went that route, hopefully it would turn out better than Drexler at Houston did.

Don't believe Ro has ever been a college coach. Limited experience as an assistant in the NBA and in international leagues. Not ready to take a program into the Big East.

Also, "Ro" rhymes with "Doh"

Doubt we sniff any of those guys. They will get bigger, better offers if they choose to go.
This Paul Hewitt thing has me worried...not a fan.

Knight is pretty old though...and he did take the Texas Tech job a while back (let me remind you that is in Lubbock

) I think we could have a legitimate shot

I wished Marc Cuban was an SMU alumnus. He would have bought out "I can't coach DOH" 3 or 4 years ago. SMU probably wouldn't have even hired the cluster**** coach to begin with, if Cuban was on the search committee.

Maybe Rick Pitino will help us find somebody. He seems pretty adamant that the Big East needs to be very strong.

I wonder if SO has ever made any overtures to M. Cuban about becoming involved with SMU athletics. He would be a great asset to have in our camp. IMO.

Doh met had Cuban visit him at his office at SMU within the first couple of weeks he was at SMU. IIRC that's why Doh started blogging

I have watched him first hand over the past 8 years as he was at GT.
He could bring in some top notch recruits, but neither the players, nor the team as a whole ever lived up to expectations.
I spoke with my buddy who graduated from GT in '10, and he said he is a terrible in game coach, and that his final four appearance was complete luck. He said it would be an awful hire for smu.

How about Jeff Capel. He was Shaka before Shaka was Shaka

I'm on the Amaker train, but it looks like Harvard fought hard last year to keep him from bolting to Miami...

Give Cuban an honorary degree. He deserves it alone for saving the St Paddy's day parade.
I like Amaker with his connections to Lin-sanity.
