Notre Dame affiliated for Bowl Games, with annual BE FB games with Navy, possibly Air Force and one or two more on a rotational basis.

Navy will scehdule annual games with SMU and/or SDSU

So you think uconn will be gone soon?

UConn stays. Add Fresno to the west.

Be interesting to see what kind of crowds these visiting teams draw. Our new AD better be ready to market, market, market.............

If you're a football fan then those teams are worth watching. But if you're a casual fan, or non-fan really (like most people affiliated with SMU), then those teams will be hard to draw. I do think I'd love to see all those teams come and play at Ford (except for Memphis). Though what sucks is our record is probably going to take a noticeable hit. Those teams are on par, or maybe even slightly better, than us in football.

I'll agree with the marketing and much needed improvement/infusion but...if we can replicate what TCU has done over the past several years and always be at the top of our conference I do not see a reason why we cannot sell out Ford without much help from visiting fans. Just look at their recent news on season ticket subscribers. Yeah, yeah I know they are in the B12 with more regional/old SWC teams but still they did a hell of a job filling that old POS when they were in the MWC.

Wasn't BYU and the BE flirting around the time we were accepting our invitation? What has changed to cause this to come up again?

I think tv deals are becoming a little bit more clearer now.

My bad, UConn in East, then who moves to West?

It wil take more than a couple of 6-6 or 7-5 regular seasons to dramatically improve attendance. Look at the school 30 miles to the west in the last 10 years (record includes the 10 bowl games since 2001):

2001 6-6
2002 10-2
2003 11-2
2004 5-6
2005 11-1
2006 11-2
2007 8-5
2008 11-2
2009 12-1
2010 13-0
2011 11-2

It starts with a coach who expects to win games. JJ is probably figuring on 1-3 or maybe 2-2 to start the 2012 season given how little importance he puts on non-conference games.

UConn and Rutgers to ACC to replace FSU and one of Clemson/GaTech/Miami to Big 12. To the breakout above, Big East adds ECU to East to make 7 in each Division.

That's why I said "if we can replicate" what they have done. That was not implying that we are currently replicating them. I also am not going to get into the much fun "JJ blows, why did we ever hire him, and we would do better with anyone else" one sided yelling match that this site has turned into on every topic. Regardless of coach, regardless of conference if we can we to go 11-1, 11-2, 8-5, 11-2, 12-1, 13-0, and 11-2 we wouldn't have to worry about the number of fans traveling teams bring. We'd sell out Ford no problem, it's a tiny stadium.
