How did you find that? I remember the first game of that season was against UTEP, mercy, was it ever hot.

One of the most brutal games in SMU history. Even the 107 degrees at the opening of Ford against Kansas doesn't hold a candle to that one!

I may be wrong about this but the '85 UTEP game was played in Texas Stadium right after the open space between the top row and the roof was filled in. Anyway, that roof was holding a lot of residual heat inside that building for the rest of the night.

I went to both the SMU game and Ranger game that day. It was awesome.
