By the way guys....were there maybe 2-300 fans from Memphis at the game? That was the worst fan base from an opposing school I have ever seen at SMU.....and rightfully so. What the [deleted] did you all expect with Memphis coming in to play? It was about 16 K and when I went into the game there that many STILL in the Blvd..put the Stampede in the end zone for the fans that still want to party..they WILL come off the blvd for a party atmosphere.

Nope I was totally amazed calellanstang...no band and NO fans....it was THE worst ever. Rice is always much better and Tulane is ok...this was THE worst fan base. I was totally shocked.

I think you are massaging your memory of Tulane's traveling fan base in 2009. 2011 too

I was at the Memphis game last year and I believe several others on this board were also there. Would say that we had probably about the same amount as Memphis brought today

I think the UCF game last year was the worst attended game I have ever seen at SMU from our fans and visiting.

We only had a couple hundred at the Memphis game in Memphis last yr. Their attendance is pathetic too, so it Tulsa's, so is Rice's, so is Tulane's... yada yada..

There is no way 6158. Has to be (first half) around 20K. Once they crown king and queen probably went down to 16K. I hate it. I was on the field and you can just see it disappear like crazy. The home side was ok but we really need to load up that side and slowly add on. I really wish they just made season tickets in bleachers much much cheaper so we can buy multiple packages to bring friends and family easier

1800 miles away. watched it on internet and only posted inquiry after it was on a web site. see link on first posting. Viewing on internet crowd looked very small.

There was never more than 12,000 fans in the stadium at any time today. A little more than 1/3rd of the available seats were occupied. 16,000? Half of the capacity seats? yeah right. Paid attendance is different.

I'm guessing whover posted that 6,158 attendance box score probably tried to count how many were sitting on the east side (that streaming video captures) and doubled it. Looked to me like maybe 5-600 students BEFORE the homecoming announcements and than about 100 in the 4th quarter. Of course, Memphis doesn't trvel for this gootball team and I saw very little of the home side. I'd say 20k paid and 12-14,000 actuall (including suites and club) is pretty accurate. No way the place was half full.

And that was predictable and why I felt we should have been promoting "give-a-ways for that game long ago)

So Miss and Tulsa games will draw no better so time is now to make an effort to put some more butts in seats even if we are having to give tickets away. Do something to let this team know they are appreciated

Wrong. I got a view of the stadium from multiple viewpoints and it was about half full overall. I posted the breakdown earlier in this thread.
