June Jones is responsible for instituting an aggressive, blitzing defense. He told Tom Mason that he wanted to blitz on every play when he hired him. I don't see how you can blame him for recruiting failures, given that by rule the head coach cannot personally do much in that regard. Yet at the same time, you are unwilling to credit him for the success of the defense simply because he does not do the play calling on defense. He is the head coach and as such should be credited and blamed for all successes and failures of the program. If any of his coaches commit any NCAA violations, that is on him as well. In the end, we lost the Tulane game because we were unable to stop them from going the entire field and scoring a TD. I guess he is now off the hook for that game because he is not involved in defense. Give me a break. Again, he is the head coach and everything falls back on him, both good and bad.

Not that it matters but we lost the Tulane game because we settled for 5 FG's, 4 of which we made. Jones has not figured out how to go under center and pound the ball in close to the goaline with a TE, FB,etc..... He probably knows how, but it just too stubborn.
I appreciate Jones for taking us out of the depths of the barrel, but he needs to go. He is not interested in putting in the real effort that it takes to take this program to the next level.....we are paying him $2M/year folks.....and we still haven't won a conference championship.

If he wants to go out on top it won't be happening after next season, not unless he considers 3-9 the top.
