I'm trying to understand what part of my statement was confusing for you, but I can't seem to do it.

Great way to alienate the small fan base we do have

pretty sure the small fan base SMU currently has is more or less the come hell or high water fans that will always be there pretty much no matter what. let's grab some of the casual dallas fans.

The problem isn't the fans in attendance, but rather the ones who aren't there.

1. Not sure how you define impressive, but SMU hasn't had all that many Top 25 opponents at home in recent years.
2. I don't think anyone is asking/demanding that Ford be sold out every game, but at least if we could move our average from 16K to the 20K-25K range it would be more respectable.

Not getting blown out against old SWC rivalries will help in keeping attendance up. Our slow starts just confirms to the Dallas area fans we are small time, IMO. That in combination with the lack luster CUSA schedule didn't help with home attendance.

Our stock in the area has risen exponentially in the the last few years. But it is time to take that next step and start playing as many real teams at home as humanly possible. Which is why I really wish we had not dropped Baylor.

You can't just play "real" teams at Ford......you have to beat them as well and outside of beating a ranked TCU team at Ford, we haven't fared too well against "real" teams........

The Cowboys' draft so far does not bode well for Beasley.

When you're the 4th/5th receiver, it hurts to be pushed down the depth chart by one as Terrance Williams is going to do.

And another top tight end to put on the field means even fewer 4/5-WR sets than they were already running.

That plus the fact he doesn't cover kicks are going to make the chances of a roster spot slim.

Good thing there are 31 other teams in the league.

The Baylor blowout took out any hope to the very casual fan last yr. cant get any interest unless you win those. They just tune out after that.
