Of course. They need to maximize the gate from this game to make up for future opponents...

I like the optimism of the initial post....

Go for broke, bring whoever you can, maybe SMU will show up, heck the last time we opened at Tech we nearly had them.....

Go Mustangs!!

Season openers don't really agree with June (0-8 vs. FBS opponents).

Remember Juney, we don't have preseason games. EVERY GAME COUNTS. I am so tired of us [deleted] the bed in our first game of the year. Inexcusable.

On the positive side I think the TT game in Lubbock last time was the best SMU has played in a season opener in a long time.

I'll be there.

The fact that I'm even considering missing the dove opener suggests this is huge deal.

The 3 day weekend for the first game of the year should help attendance, IMO.

Should be festive with music, food, color, excitement on both sides...

Love the enthusiasm and the original listed ideas are good, but if they happen we cannot, cannot, cannot lay another turd....

Love the initial first post. Awesome thoughts and points.

I think June should take a page out of Larry Browns book and reach out to Frats and other students orgonizations to encourage people to come to games. If he showed up and just said "hey I want you to come, be loud and annoy the crap out of Tech", I think the on the fence person about whether to go or not would. I'd feel awesome that JJ actually showed up and asked for help in annoying the sand aggies. I'm graduated and I was blown away (and jealous) when I heard that LB went over the SAE house.

This may be a pipe dream, but after that first post. I'm feel outrageously energized

I'm pretty sure that June hasn't been in any other buildings on campus other than Ford Stadium.

Don't understand why you would say that about June. He's not an overly "chatty" person, but he's not the hunchback of Ford Stadium either. He makes the rounds on campus - probably more than any other head coach - surely you know that, Shirley.

The Hunchback of Ford Stadium

This is now my favorite thing to call June when he does something dumb. Maybe the Hawaiian Hunchback? :D

So many things to criticize him for, no need to make things up.

You'd think the odds would be in our favor for an opening day win---let's hope this is the year!!!
