We really need to get Traylon Shead healthy and a productive runner for this offense to start clicking in the red zone.
Back off Warchild seriously.

I didn't say GG  Which coach is it, Sumlin, that will bench a receiver that drops a pass for the rest of the drive? Do something like that to give him incentive not to drop it. Since he is catching the most total, put him back in after a few plays. Between games get him on the football launcher to work those hands because he can get open well enough.

In all fairness I remember a lot of tough to catch balls that were the "dropped" ones, except maybe one that he really should have caught.

No we don't....although I obviously hope Shead gets healthy...
but personally I think if given the chance K.C. Nlemchi is going to be our star running back.

This dude rocks!

interesting who does Hal Mumme have in his Coaching Tree that might be interested in SMU as a HEAD Coach-I don't think Mumme should get the head coaching job but I can think of worse Offensive Coordinators based on the improvement I see so far. Improvement is there just need a stronger running game(Shead/Niemchi?), development of TE/Hybrid Inside Receiver(Jeremiah Gaines?), Receivers that can break crossing patterns and vertical passing(JaBryce Taylor?).

You wouldn't make Mumme head coach if he cleaned house with JJ's assistants?

You guys are passing judgement wayy too early on Shead. He is a monster waiting to break out. Can't wait to see him get back on the field. he is a physical specimen and i look forward to watching him running over people. Nlemchi is a great #2 and nice for a change of pace, cause pretty sure he has a bit better speed than Shead.

You wanna can one oldie and bring in another? Pretty sure the overwhelming majority here (myself included) want a young, motivated, passionate coach who will put a premium on recruiting ala James Franklin of Vandy.. someone who believes in the program and can SELL it

I have no problem with an older HC, as long as he has the staff to get the talent in the door. I wonder if JJ and Mumme and Mason overseeing a revamped staff is not the way to go. Bring in younger coaches with a view to them taking over from the old guard when they move on.

Bring in younger coaches with recruiting skins on the wall.
