Y'all talk as if we're the only school with professional sports surrounding our school!
-Stanford
-Miami
-TCU
-Houston
-UCF
-Arizona State
I can go on and on and on. Please do not use that as an excuse.
Adding more...
USC
UCLA
San Diego St
Cincy
Rutgers (30 mins outsidee NYC yet still brinngs 50k a game)
Vandy
Washington
Georgia Tech
Pitt
South Florida
Like he said, all of those schools are in or near pro sport towns yet still draw well and sell out their stadiums. That excuse is overused and overdone.

People don't attend because we don't win big or beat relevant teams. Have to do that to get fans. Old news. Next story.

"But we can't win big games because our bad attendance demoralizes our team, and we can't recruit better athletes to beat better teams because of empty seats!"
At least that's how this stupid circular argument goes.

You could always use a pencil to break the circle....

Or use calculus to find the derivative of that circle, turning it into a line. Amirite?!?
I really thought JJ would use his football-pseudo-Christianity to convince his players/recruits that they were playing for some higher purpose beyond the fans. And play hard. I've heard evidence of this from a few players but I see little evidence of it on the field, or with how JJ speaks about our fan base. Oh well, next.

I thought the exact same thing, wouldn't mind having a coach like that. At least you feel like he wouldn't ditch the ship when it hits a few waves for money...

Was interesting to watch and listen at the turd of a game in Tulsa a couple years ago when some of the crowd [unfortunately] became very overt in their displeasure with what was unfolding on the field. That stadium is such that the seating area makes it very easy to see/hear comments along the lines of we are playing for us...cmon...f em. And the f ems weren't directed toward the Golden Hurricane.

Ah, that's good news. We don't have any fans and our stadium is empty, and screw the ones that do come b/c they're complete richards to us.
