I've been smoked out. Thanks Jim and others for some nice comments. There will be doubters and that's totally fine, have at it. If you watch his film and don't like him or think SMU can do better, that's cool, say so. I am more concerned about SMU winning and surviving too than my son playing down the street, he will be totally fine and have lots of great options in football and life if anything changes. Dads' opinions are garbage, so I won't offer one, but i will pass on that Corbett Smith of the Dallas Morning News wrote in an online blog earlier this year that he thinks Mitchell is one of the most underrated linebackers in the area. He has done the work this summer on strength and agility, self imposed 2 a days all summer. He weighed on the scales at Premier/Lifetime fitness center yesterday and was 222. He will hopefully have a great senior season, should be lots of fun for our family, you only get this once. Looking forward to HP basketball too. He is a captain of both teams this year.
That's about all I will say about this, maybe for the next 5 years, maybe forever, I dunno. My avatar says I registered for PonyFans in March of the year 2000. Wow, time does fly. Mitchell was a 3 year old bowling ball then. Before that i was "stangster' on the old Mustang Maniacs site. I hope this site is still rolling 15 years from now and that SMU is doing great things. I'm still optimistic. No quitting. Ever. SMU is an awesome place.

COngratulations to Mitchell, I know you're proud. I recall talking to you about this possibility last year at one of the basketball games, and now here it is come to pass. Congrats to Mitch, and here is my hope for his success in every line of endeavor.
Hoop - really excited for Mitchell and your family. Have watched him play both sports, and know him to be a very fine young man. He is exactly who we would want representing our school.
Folks here should know Mitch is pretty new on the football scene, so you can expect huge upside.
Used to live in Mitchell's "hood." Could tell when he was 7, 8, 9 years old he was going to be a special athlete. When he was 8, he was playing baseball and basketball in a league of 9/10 year olds and dominating. Congrat's, Hoop Fan I know you are very proud. Looking forward to watching him dominate his four years on the hilltop.
