Mrs. WreckEm is only allowing yours truly to have that particular groom's cake because she is also a student at Tech. It is the only influence I've had so far on the wedding process.
As for the defense: yes, it's true that 8 or 9 starters last year were freshmen. And yes, I suppose that means they should be better this year based on age and experience alone. However, I find it difficult to get excited about returning everyone from the worst defense in the NCAA.
Imagine going into Stillwater, putting up 49 points, and losing. Or playing in DKR down in Austin, putting up 40 points, and losing. I see no significant reason why it should be much better this year, but hope springs eternal I suppose.
Both sides of the ball for us rely heavily on timing, so it bodes well for SMU that this is the opener for us.
I am more worried about SMU in Dallas (I was there two years ago, after all) than I am about the Frogs in Lubbock. That game will be a massacre that I can hardly wait to see.

Wedding Schedule
By mutual agreement, my husband (who just happens to be a Tech grad) and I scheduled our wedding not only to avoid college football season, but also college basketball season and any other major sporting event worth watching. Before we set our date, we told people it would be between the Masters and college football season. I even got my bridal portraits taken in Ford Stadium, by the way. We are also planning starting a family around the 2006 World Cup in Germany so as not to interfere with travel and German beer drinking.
I hate it when my friends are not so accomodating.
