Classy things coming out of that toilet they call Lubbock, Texas. What did they say about themselves a few years ago when they lost to UNT back to back seasons?

Oh, and remember a couple of years ago when they went to OU to play the "...biggest game in TTU history" with a chance to win their division title? Seems like they got trounced pretty well. It's been awhile, but SMU did well when it was their "...biggest game in history"

The very next poster told the guy he was wrong, and a few guys complimented SMU's tailgating.

Geez, selectively sensitive.

I know.....it just the worst time of year without football.....need something to get excited about! Man I can't wait! What like 52 more days till kickoff!?! Is it bad that my fiancee is counting down the days till our wedding and I am counting down the days till Tech comes to town!?
Don't get me wrong....I am excited for the wedding and all......BUT I AM TALKING ABOUT COLLEGE FOOTBALL HERE! (man, am I glad she doesn't read this or i would be on the couch the first couple of months after the wedding! )

just wondering-other than Craig Welch, PonyDawg and myself-how many other SMU fans consciously planned their wedding and honeymoon so as not to interfere with Football season? :D

I would deny it under questioning - but honeymoon was wrapped up in mid August - not by coincidence. We got married during death penalty era - she has since claimed false advertising - not knowing I was so rabid a fan. After enough doctrination has become a fan herself - we are afterall the underdog lovers dream come true.

My fiancee, God bless her soul, has decided on a June wedding. No missed football for me - she's even letting me get away with a Double T groom's cake.

I just knew she was the one.

Hey, congratulations, WreckEm16. Sounds like you've got a keeper (if she crosses you up and throws in a Pony groom's cake, then it's time to start naming children after her!) Good for you, landing a wife who understands that football sits atop the list of life's priorities. Seriously: best wishes to you and Mrs. WreckEm.

Question: someone (maybe WreckEm) said Tech fans gently refer to the TTU defense as "the Red Carpet." Is that still the feeling about the defense going into this season? Or is there reason to believe Tech's defense is improved? I'd love to see what Tech could do if they could muster a defense to match that offense. Starting in Week 2, of course.

Tech was rebuilding just about every defensive position on the field last year-I think they had only 3 returning starters-they are expected to be much better this year.

Huh? I thought the Tech fans were saying they might be worse on defense this year.
Damn. Well, hopefully, they'll need a couple of weeks to get their new personnel up to speed.

Ponydawg's ideal bridal gown is red and blue

Post by Sam I Am »

Maybe ponydawg could get his bride to wear an SMU cheerleader's costume at their wedding. His bestman and groomsmen should give the wedding couple two season tickets on the 50 yard line. The bride will forgive his football mania if allowed to shop at the Galleria during game tim while he is at the stadium. There is always a way to make a relationship work if you have enough credit left on your mastercard. Congratulations on taking the Big Fall. I've only done 40 years on my nuptials life sentence, with no sign of parole. I'm just a prisoner of love.

Agreed, except Mrs. Ponydawg must become a lifelong PonyFan as well. So let's modify your arrangement by saying she can shop on Sunday, while he watches the NFL at home. But she must become a fixture on The Boulevard and at ALL games, right? (Every ticket counts until we're winning enough to fill the place.)

The soon to be Mrs. Ponydawg went to UT........ but went to SMU for Law School (for a bit), so she has that going for her. She does come out to the blvd for the pre-game warm up and makes about half of games a year but I usually end up giving her ticket to a friend b/c when I get in my "moods" at the game, her telling me it is okay with a big smile is not what i want to hear, nice thought though.
All in all......I'm pretty lucky......but very scared about that mastercard thing.

Tell her to sit with you during the games (from start to finish), and if you're in "a mood" after a game, send her shopping and head to your favorite bar. Drink heavily. If she's shopping, she'll be sober enough to pick you up and drag you home.
