Re: Why is no one talking about the re-seating at Moody?
My plan is to do the same donation I did last year and let the chips fall where they may. I have been a longtime season ticket holder so, who knows, I may actually get better seats. I am not going to play the game though. I will see where my donation level currently gets me and if I get shoved to the rafters I will re-seat myself out of the arena the following year.

Well first off you're not going to fit in a red seat. Second, can you imagine dropping a $20,000 donation and ending up in my seats .

Pretty good recap, with a caveat. I was at the same meeting. I'm hopeful to upgrade my seats; perhaps a little less hopeful now. Still a good value to hold and use when I'm in town.PonyLaw90 wrote:Ok, I attended today's meeting on Reseating. There are no new revelations. Here is the summary:
1. For most normal donors, $50,000 and below, your donation will determine the level of seats you get. The chart that has been provided establishes what is the average donation for that seating area by the previous seat holders;
2. So let's say I donate $5,000 to the Mustang Club for two seats. I will be lumped in with everyone who donates $5000. Someone who donated $5,500 for two seats will be in a group above me. Within my $5,000 group, my points will determine my priority within my $5,000 group. So all my past contributions, attendance, etc... determine my rank within the group.
3. If you don't have many points or haven't made significant contributions in the past, you need to bump up your contributions to say, $6,000 for two seats to pass up all the $5,000 donors. Then within your group of $6,000 donors, your priority points will still determine your priority.
4. As you can see, the premium is on the donation. Period.
5. It is true that you won't know which exact seat you're going to have, but you can get a general idea based on the charts that have been provided.
6. The "losers" in this whole reseat thing are the people who have supported the program for 10-40 years. Their tens of thousands (maybe hundreds of thousands) won't amount to anything in the computation other than priority within their donor group. So if Mr. Jones has donated $150,000 over the last 15 years, but for 2018 donates $7,500 for two seats, he's in the same category as Mr. Young Mustang who just started buying tickets two years ago. Yes his points may bump him to the front of the line of all $7,500 donors, but that's it.
Not sure if that helps.
The 5000/5500 point isn't exactly true. As I understand it, a 5k donor would need to bump to 7500 to leapfrog. 5000-7499 is the same group.

Thanks. I was wondering how they would handle that.
I am sure some people will try to give something like $1001

Too rich for my lowly state school blood. Hopefully I can afford cable to watch it on TV.

If you're already a sth you'll still have a seat even if donation stays the sameCoxMustangFan wrote:Too rich for my lowly state school blood. Hopefully I can afford cable to watch it on TV.

You’re right. I forgot about the designation levels— Mustang, stallion etc.

Re: Why is no one talking about the re-seating at Moody?
With the number of empty seats I have seen this year combined with the reaction on this board, I am going to predict that the interest level of new donations or current donators significantly increasing their donations is not going to be large. I really like my current seats, but know I won't be able to keep them because I am in the magical row 6 (sec 207).
I've been donating $500 annually to the MC for about 20 years and have been a season ticket holder for either football or basketball (but not both at the same time) for that entire time. My strategy will be to donate my same $500 for 2 seats for the 2018-19 season and see what happens. If I get screwed, bring on the 3rd party brokers for the '19-20 season.

Re: Why is no one talking about the re-seating at Moody?
Tickets to most games can be easily had outside of Moody at tip for $10 per. I had two extras to an early season game that I tried to sell below face value and I could not get any takers. I finally took $8 from a scalper - figured I would at least get a beer out of the two tix.
Even USC tickets were going at or below face value of stub hub - our premier early season game of the year.
Current Stubhub prices for upcoming games:
Temple $6
ECU $10
Memphis $7
Houston $14
Cincy $29
Wichita $75
I am out of season tickets...plan to go with secondary market next year.

What are you talking about you spent half the time in my front row seats lol.
Oh wait they're not mine... I sure hope that guy keeps his seats behind us cuz we can buy them for about eight bucks a piece on the stub.

When did this happen? The first season of new Moody?

I respectfully disagree with your theory on interest level of donations. SMU would not have thrown this out there unless they have people lined up and ready to donate larger sums of money. Its obvious the majority of the true fans are sitting in the blue seats. That is were smu support will be hurt the most. Those seats will be empty for most games, like the red floor seats, except for big games. Moody Magic will become Moody Mausoleum. I hope I am wrong.
