All I know is that when LSU came to Oxford, we always have broken windows around town, and general disrespect for our campus and town, and when i saw LSU play Houston in Baton Rouge, the fans pelted the UofH cheerleaders with debris and they ran off the field crying. No lie. The Tech game reminded me of these incidents. Besides, they are the only teams where I've had people apologize in advance of the game for their fans.
I've witnessed SOME bad sportsmanship by LSU fans over the years, just as I have by fans of many other SEC schools. Generally, the incidents occur by drunk and rowdy hooligans OUTSIDE OF THE STADIUM AFTER THE GAME. And, most of the time, there is provocation. Making a "class" comparison between LSU and TTU fans, though, is ridiculous. I was at the LSU game this past weekend, with ULL fans walking around in red LSWho? T-shirts. Many of them were tailgating with larger crowds of LSU fans and having a good time.
Just because your, ahem, team continually winds up in the cellar of the SEC with its collective panties over its head, don't blame LSU fans for enjoying beating the hell out of them.

Geaux MUSTANGS! Geaux Tigers!

[quote="MrMustang1965"]I just hope none of SMU's students or fans ever embarrass us the same way..........One thing I thought I would point out was, I went to our TECH tailgate party before the game which was sponsored by the Mustang Club etc. Now I dislike tcu as much as any good Mustang, but the guys catering our food at the Tech tailgate party had TCU SUCKS tee shirts on. My wife asks why they had these on at a Mustang Club event before the Tech game ? I certainly did not care at the time but my wife mentioned that she thought that was alittle classless being it was a Mustang sponsored event and there were children attending.

Yes, that does not look good. I'm not defending the people who were wearing those shirts but...perhaps they were trying to find a common bond with the TT fans in the area since the Red Raiders will be playing the Frogs in a couple of weeks. And that's one thing that I'm sure Tech and Mustang fans can agree on: WE HATE T.C.U.!

re: I went to our TECH tailgate party before the game which was sponsored by the Mustang Club
Did you notice there was not a single SMU banner or sign at the large tent for the SMU pre-game party at Tech?
I ran into several people close to the tent that asked "where is the SMU event?".
Do the people planning these events not think in terms of promotion at all?
I mean would you not think to have a couple of banners made at Kinkos that says "SMU MUSTANG CLUB".
It is a no-brainer!
It's good Orsini is "cleaning house" because we need people that live and breath promoting SMU.
