That's right. I was thinking I saw him on a college special report, but it was an NFL special report they did on him with the Broncos.

No one has to be a great orator to play team sports they just need to be able to understand what it is they are doing. If not being able to talk to people very well gets in the way of that then you need to find a way.
If I spent much time in Crane I wouldn't talk much either. That place is boring, outside of the Dugout Video Store there is not a lot going on in that town. You could also go over to McKamey and eat at Benoit's with all the wildcatters,good food too.

That pretty well applies to life in general. I learn to "understand what I am doing" much better by not talking and listening than I do by talking.

The same way they do in real life. You do realize there are deaf/dumb people living through out the world don't you? They can read writing, lips and sign.
Watch the sidelines of a football game. The coaches signal the defense by holding up numbers and symbols on cards from the sidelines. I will admit, blind would be difficult, but deaf can be overcome.

Yeah I kind of forgot where this whole thing was going.
So Odiari has a speech impediment that might be getting in the way of him getting on the field because he might be too embarrassed about it to be able to talk to his coaches if he needs to. But just as the deaf/dumb guy did, Odiari can overcome his impediment. But he also may have a problem with listening to his coaches which if that is the case then he needs to listen better.
But assuming he does not have that problem and he understands what it is his coaches are telling him because he pays attention, he might be seeing some things that are confusing to him. Things that he needs to talk to his coaches about which he cannot do too well if he is embarrassed about his impediment.
