Like it or not, this season died with the UAPB loss
Moderators: PonyPride, SmooPower
I'm stating an opinion as to what I believe is the case. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I'm not going to lose a lot of sleep over this. But I do think this season is over.
This is a message board. I don't care if I'm the only one who believes what I believe. I'm not here to suck up to any of you people. Call me an a-hole. Call me whatever. I find it amusing.
What I do love is how some of you think I am doing this to provoke a reaction. If I did, then OK, I did. You had the choice not to react and ignore it.
But as of this time, this thread had about 30 responses and nearly 500 views. Guess no one cared to look at it.
And I'm not leaving anytime soon. So get used to it.
Oh, if I jumped ship like the master of video recruiting suggests, then why would be a football season ticket holder for 7 years, a Mustang Club member for about 5 and have attended hoops and football on this campus -- and watched a lot of bad football and basketball -- since I stepped on this campus in 1987 -- WHEN WE DIDN'T HAVE A FOOTBALL PROGRAM!
By the way, did we in College Station? That's what I thought.

a. How did you watch football when it wasnt being played
b. Did you refuse to go to the Coton Bowl, we havent been playing back on campus all that long

A. It was a general statement
B. I went to the Cotton Bowl for many games but did not have season tickets at the time.
Hope that clarification helps.

That doesn't even make sense since I paid for the tickets to all of the games I went to. And I rarely missed a game at the Cotton Bowl.
Sir, you're grasping for an argument that really isn't there. And Im so glad you've gone the traditionally tiresome argument of, "I'm a better SMU fan than you are because I did this and you didn't".

Of course you say things solely for a reaction. You can try to soften your stance by saying it's "just your opinion" (which we know, based on the lack of factual information in most of your posts), but by expressing your surprise at other people's reactions, your suggesting that we should feel the same way you do. Likewise, by saying "like it or not, this season died..." in the title of the thread, you're suggesting that what you're saying is RIGHT, not merely your opinion. So don't try to backpedal now - it's too late to back away from this dramatic thesis you were nice enough to share with us... or from the idiocy spewed when you still went by the name Big10PonyFan.George S. Patton wrote:I don't why people are in so much angst about what's going to happen for the remainder of the season. It's irrelevant. Season is over, folks.
Higher Authority was right when he predicted you wouldn't be able to abandon the team you pronounced dead.
What a surprise.
Go PONIES!

The season is dead. How is 3-5 working out for you right now. No quality wins. Lost to every decent team that they played. Oh and don't forget 64-62 to UAPB. What more facts do you need?
They don't hit free throws. The guards are going to get worn out. The post play sucks. Faye better not be living on the perimeter if they want to have chance in the box? I don't think it's a mentally tough team.
Not backpeddling from anything. It's an opinion. That's what opinions are, smart guy? People either agree with you or they don't.
You also failed to acknowledge that in that post that I didn't care if I was the only who felt that way.
It's a message board, my friend. That's what you get to do here.
But thanks for responding. You've just been sucked in.
How can anyone "pronounce a season dead" when we have played 8 of 29 games? Oh great prognosticator, please tell me more...
Not saying we are going to win the conference, just saying nothing is over with such a young team. I hope that the Pine Bluff wake up call and the hussle showed at A&M will change our fortunes for the better.

Did SMU win at College Station? The way some of spinmeisters are talking about the effort and stuff, they have decided to count the moral W as an actual W.
OK. Then I guess they're 4-4 and not 3-5.
My mistake. Sorry.
