while AK does do a lot of the heavy lifting in recruiting, i would think it's fair to say that the majority of the recruits want to go play for a heac coach as opposed to one of the assistant coaches.

Don't flatter SMU fans claiming they know much about recruiting either- apparently out of the hundreds of Ponyfan posts on the subject not one of them made about 4 points I did in this thread. Although I will say now it seems like every Jimmy and Johnny Cheerleader got a Rivals subsciption for Christmas because they think its their duty to support the program propaganda machine. Now those sites are filled with the same stupid Cheerleader comments previously reserved for Ponyfans.

By the time you started this thread yesterday at 5:10pm there were many many posts on the Lunch/Tweet thread saying that it was a ridiculous way of slanting the data in favor of coaches who had been here a long time. In fact, the first response to this thread was from me sarcastically thanking you for laying out what had already been said many times on the other thread.

No one researched all the exact dates and time periods like you did because that was uneccessary as it had already been said many times in simpler form: Starters are upperclassmen, Klemm's recruits with one exception are true freshman or high school seniors.

But in fact you didn't articulate the facts-did you? That was unneccessary? Really I think it was definitely necessary to understand how ridiculous Jones' point was. Your alleged "simplier terms" doesn't prove the point because Klemm has been on campus since 2008.You're ridiculous. Your criticism of my post is ridiculous. There is nothing wrong with factually detailing the reasons Jones' was being unfair to Klemm. You need a simplier message board. Think you ought to call it Conventional Wisdom

I did not say there was anything wrong with detailing everything you did, I was responding to your criticism of ponyfans for not having laid out the same points. Some people get lost in the weeds, some people understand the details without getting bogged down. Most people do it civilly, but not all.

Never forget that we still have the Sun God... JJ seems to find great recruiters out of nowhere. We will be fine.

I hope we manage to keep Klemm for at least 2 more years, but if we do lose him in the next few days I am not so sure we will really feel the impact this season. I think that most of the guys that are currently committed have been hearing a steady pitch from him about the greatness of playing for June Jones at SMU and coming to Dallas. I think that it is hard to go back on that message with this years class and still sound sincere. However, I think that once he leaves, our recruiting in California will dry up considerably if not completely and we will certainly feel that loss in future years. I hope that this whole situation along with the move to the Big East serves to energize our staff to recruit like never before and improve our contacts in Texas.

That is one out of how many coaches on staff? And Jeff while he is a good facebooker he is kind of hit and miss on his recruits. A lot of his recruits have not even made it in at SMU. But since he is recruiting that LB from Germany I guess that will make everything fine. Top BCS recruiters don't just fall off trees so we might be fine but we might not be fine.
