I don't care if he lied about having a girlfriend or not. Everybody saw AJ McCarron's girlfirend, and the star Notre Dame player has to resort to Internet Dating?
Notre Dame never had a shot, and now we know why.

I don't know what motivated Te'o. As if that behind whuppin' on national TV wasn't enough to lower his draft pick he has a screw girlfriend story which brings in his mental status stability into the process

There are only two reasons why you make up a fake dying girlfriend. (1) You don't like girls. (2) You want to bolster your chances of winning the Heisman with a great human interest story. I won't hazard a guess which one it is, but given some of his comments at the time, it doesn't sound like he was the victim of a hoax.

there are a lot worse things in the world than a story about an imaginary girlfriend that spiralled out of control. I hate ND but I could care less about this story. He's not the worst human being in the world.
