Te'o not looking like a Butkus winner
Personally I thought Jarvis Jones from Georgia should have won. I think the bias toward Notre Dame got Te'o the award. He is certainly one heck of a player, but I don't think he is the best LB in the country.
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.

Paul Hornung won Heisman on a 2-8 Notre Dame team

These things are voted on by people who don't watch the games and just look at stats. They vote for DBs who get the most interceptions whether or not they're the best players, and love a linebacker who gets interceptions. I liked Kyle Van Noy from BYU , personally.

Guarantee Margus gets drafted higher than Te'o. Especially after the combine.

For all the hype, he was one unimpressive specimen. He reminded me of the Boz when he finally played against good talent. The guy looked like he was too easy to block. Now Bama's O line is exceptional but other backers have fared better than Te'o. A$M, LSU and even Georgia backers looked better than Te'o. I thought ND was supposed to have some great running game as well. Didn’t see it last night.
ND’s defense was not that good from the first snap on. Once again, ND could have lost the first 3 games of the year and gone up in the polls. Things are just that bias when it comes to Midwest teams.

How many tackles did he have last night? I remember one, and he got there only after a teammate slowed down the Bama runner. I never liked Te'o but thought he was a solid player, so it was shocking to see how many tackles he just missed last night.
The interceptions this year were good, but talk about a product of the Notre Dame PR system. He was invisible against Bama. Actually he wasn't ... he was like a human speed bump.

"Roughing the Linebacker" should have been called on every Bama possession. Never got his mouth out of the turf to be a speed bump!

Members of Bama O line commented after the game that the ND D line was pretty much on par and no better than Georgia, Florida, LSU, S. Carolina and A & M. Polite way of saying that they were over hyped and rated.ponyte wrote:For all the hype, he was one unimpressive specimen. He reminded me of the Boz when he finally played against good talent. nd is almost always over-hyped and over-rated.

Polite way of saying they would have been no higher than No. 5 in the Big 12 or SEC.

Watching that game, I had a hard time finding anyone on Notre Dame team who would start at Alabama. Maybe that big DT (#9). Is that it?PoconoPony wrote:Members of Bama O line commented after the game that the ND D line was pretty much on par and no better than Georgia, Florida, LSU, S. Carolina and A & M. The talent difference was shocking. Notre Dame isn't in the same league as Bama.
