I think D.J. Hogg is also Team Texas

DJ Hogg is on the Texas Titans. Team texas and the Texas Titans are probably the two top teams in DFW. Gilder plays for the Dallas Mustangs.

The EYBL circuit is in town this weekend. Team Texas (McQuaid, Thomas, Grandstaff, Juwan Evans) and Texas Titans (Hogg & plenty others) both kick things off at 8am on Saturday and then play again later in the day as well:

Re: Matt McQuaid commits!
Excellent.
Smart move, young man.
Seems to be the kind LB likes - long, sharp skills, fundamentally sound, coachable.
If he has competitive fire/work ethic, he'll be a star.
Who does he help us get?

I thought Thomas is injured and not playing this summer? (let's get Davis!)

He's listed on the roster but I believe you're right about him not playing this Summer.
Re: Matt McQuaid commits!
This was on 247 Sports today predicting McQuaid would go to Creighton. They had been saying he was almost a certain Creighton lock. Funny how things change so quickly, I am glad we have him on our team, looks like a great player
The Crystal Ball
Creighton 71%
SMU 29%

I think Hoopmanx and most had him as a Creighton lean.

Re: Matt McQuaid commits!
per ESPN Insider:
ESPN 60 shooting guard Matt McQuaid committed to SMU on Monday. The Class of 2015 prospect was seriously courted by Alabama, Creighton, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M and Wichita State, among others.
Why he committed: McQuaid had a great comfort level with the coaching staff and an opportunity to play for Hall of Fame coach Larry Brown and a chance to win a national championship. Also, he gets to play close to home and earn a degree from a great school.
What he brings: The 6-foot-4, four-star shooting guard is long and more athletic than he appears and McQuaid has an excellent basketball IQ to go along with being a terrific shooter off the catch. He has deep range and a quick trigger. He is a gym rat who takes pride in working on his game. McQuaid has improved his mid-range game and his ability to attack off the dribble and draw fouls.
How he fits: McQuaid provides the Mustangs with a long and lean shooter who can stretch the floor by spotting up on the break and create spacing within the half-court offense. Brown will also have a couple set plays to get McQuaid free with some single-double pin-down and flare-screening actions.
Who he reminds us of: McQuaid reminds of of a young Kyle Korver with his ability to shoot it deep off the catch, his quick trigger and basketball IQ.
How the class shapes up: The Mustangs are off to a great start in the Class of 2015. McQuaid joins point guard Sedrick Barefield. The future backcourt is in good hands in Dallas

Who remembers that great Mustang of yesteryear, Klayton Korver, Kyle's uncle?
