I was referring to the comment about this season's success. Davis was a huge get and Jasey & Clark have contributed. Should add Nutall to that equation. My point was simply that Jank was fortunate to have Cooper on his staff as the Weathers twins were the "X factor" for this year's team and Cooper was the key to getting them.
YES! and a fact too often overlooked by the jank group. I think our season would have been very different without the Weathers.
As Alex pointed out- do we really want another 4-5 years with only slight success except for one year.

Jury is still out on whether this season will ultimately be deemed a success. I think anything short of a trip to MSG will be yet another disappointment but the bracket is set up for 2 very challenging games in Moody to make that happen. I'm hoping for Moody Magic to extend the home winning streak to 19

Six seasons….. no NCAA tourney.
Hell of a job.
I’ve yet to see an upgrade suggested.

If Jank leaves, I would think that McCasland would have to be target # 1. Hiring him away from UNT would certainly fuel what could become a nice conference rivalry down the road, assuming the Big XII continues to black ball SMU and we remain in the AAC along with UNT

Jank hired Cooper just like Maligi, now at UT, was a top recruiter for Larry Brown.

Not my job. But the guys whose job it is better be smilin’ and dialing’ right now. It’s going to be an active couple of months for coach movement. I’d be really dissatisfied if they just re-signed Jank without looking hard for a better fit.

I expect a lot of available candidates. The issue is will lil rickey be doing much to move up or will he just pass on upgrading our staff? Remember this is the guy who walked hand in hand with SD down the boulevard while SD was stabbing us in the back and stealing everybody and everything he could.
We can only hope Alex is right in that we will have a new AD soon and he can make the decisions.

Rick Hart has done many good things at SMU - especially in hiring coaches - not perfect but very good.
The way the reseat and some other things were handled were obviously not as good as they should have been done. I am very glad that he walked with SD that last day. However Sonny acted, I would expect the SMU AD to act in a classy manner. Then immediately after the game, get him out of the building and move on.

Hart handled the re-seat as poorly as possible. The Travis Mays disaster could not have been handled worse. His handling of the Sonny Dykes situation shows he doesn't care about SMU. He hasn't done anything to elevate SMU in any way since he arrived. Everything that is good right now pre-dates his arrival. He is the real problem.

Don't forget he was a big supporter of Tiki Boy, including after he tanked a recruiting class by trying to get them to move with him to Arizona.
